The Centre is about 3 miles from both Bletchley and Milton Keynes railway stations.  There are direct services to and from London Euston.

By Road
The community centre is on Dulverton Drive, which is just off Fulmer Street. 
From the south west, use the A421 to Furzton.  Turn left at Fulmer Street then second right into Dulverton Drive.
From the south east take J13 off M1 onto A421.  Follow to Furzton then turn right onto Fulmer Street then second right onto Dulverton Drive.
From the north leave the M1 at J14 on A509.  At first roundabout take A4146.  At third roundabout turn right onto A421 then the same directions as from the south east.

Advice
The UK Sucrologists’ Club 2009 midland exchange meeting will be held at the Ridgeway Community Centre, North Furzton, Milton Keynes.
The meeting is from 10am to 3.30pm but participants may arrive and leave at any time during the day.
Tea and coffee will be available but you may wish to bring your own packed lunch.

UKSC does not endorse the buying and selling of packets.  Participants at exchange meetings set out their surplus packets on a table and are then free to wander around the other tables taking any packets they require.
Swapping is not done on a one for one basis, collectors are usually happy for other participants to take whatever they want.
Sorting packets by country and arranging them in shallow trays or boxes is generally the most helpful.

Mainz - 9 May 2009

The main meeting in on 9th from 9.00 to 12.30.

There will be a collectors' meeting on the evening of the 8th and a visit to the Dumjahn Collections on the afternoon of the 9th.

The closing date for applications is 11th April.

Germany (EGF) - May 2009

 Meeting of the

Europäische Gemeinschaft der Zuckersammler (EGZ)

Eisenach (Thuringia) - in the heart of Germany.

21st - 24th May

The exchange meeting is on Saturday 23rd May but events are being organized for the Thursday and Friday and special rates are available in Hotel Glockenhof.

Prague - June 2009

12th International Sugar Meeting 

Prague, Saturday 6th June 2009

This event will take place at Kulturní dm Krakov (Culture house), Prague 8 - Bohnice, Tšínská str. No. 

600/4 which is situated in the northern part of Prague.

Times - from 11.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., registration from 10.30 a.m.,  

On Saturday evening a dinner will be arranged for interested participants in the centre of  Prague. On Sunday morning a guided tour of Prague will be held. Both these events need to be booked and paid for separately.  (Price of the guided tour 100 Kc/person.)

There is also an exhibition of sugar packets created by members of the Club in the National Museum of Agriculture in Prague which is running from 28 May to 11 June - Prague 7, Kostelní str. No. 44, daily  9 a.m. - 5 a.m. except Monday. Fee 60 Kc /students and seniors 30 Kc.  

Closing date for applications 15 April.

USA - November 2008

World Sugar Meeting in USA

France - May 2009

"We organize in Laurac, south of the France, the biggest french sugar festival. It will be held on Saturday May 2, 2009."

This major french event occurs every two years.

The previous event gathered 95 collectors from 11 countries: France, Spain, Andorra, Denmark, USA, Italy, Switzerland,Germany,Czech Republic, Germany and Belgium... but NOBODY from the UK! 

Why not join us?

The TGV runs from Little to Valence.  Laurac is in a tourist region much enjoyed by visitors.  On the Friday evening there will be a free dinner at "Café Chez Paulette" in the center of the medieval village of Balazuc. There is a Gala dinner on Saturday evneing.

Help may be available in finding cheap accomodation.

BOOKING DEADLINE NOW PASSED

The UK Sucrologists’ Club 2008 southern exchange meeting will be held in a function marquee at the Ramada Hotel on the outskirts of Dover.   We hope that this will enable collectors from across the channel to join us.
The meeting is from 10am to 3pm but participants may arrive and leave at any time during the day.

The cost is £7 for UKSC members, £10 for other collectors and £3 for accompanying partners.  There is a £0.50 surcharge for online bookings because of the PayPal fees.

Refreshments can be purchased at the Hotel’s restaurant and snack bar.  You may wish to bring your own packed lunch. 
To arrange for overnight accommodation at the hotel please contact them direct, quoting “Sugar Packet Meeting” and ask for a discount.  We understand the reduced rate is £79 for a double room, £89 for a family room.

UKSC Midland Region Sugar Packet Exchange Meeting

Exchanging at the exchange meeting.

The next exchange meeting will be held at The Ridgeway Community Centre, Dulverton Drive, North Furzton, Milton Keynes, Bucks on Saturday 9th June 2007, 10am - 4pm.

UKSC Members £5 per person
Other Collectors £8 per person

Only one table will be allocated to each collector as we are limited on availability and space. If there are any spare tables on the day, an additional charge will be made to those who require one.

Accompanying partners £2 per person

Tea, coffee and biscuits mid-morning and mid-afternoon will be provided, but no other food, so we suggest you bring your own lunch. There is a Morrisons supermarket nearby where sandwiches may be bought or a Henry's Table restaurant within a short distance.

Overseas collectors are welcome. The nearest railway station is Bletchley approximately 3 miles from the venue. For car drivers details of travel routes and a map will be sent out with the tickets ordered.

If you wish to attend, please register with your payment by Friday 25th May 2007.
